I thoroughly enjoy encouraging others to create. Misunderstanding a key concept  frequently prevents an aspiring artist from developing their skills beyond a certain level or may indeed cause them to abandon their creative hopes in frustration.  Enabling someone to understand (rather than just hear or observe) is the true key to learning, I believe.   As a teacher I am known for my clear and jargon-free presentation style and for getting my message across in a friendly, supportive, non-patronising & lively manner.

I undertake half or full days of private tuition sessions for individuals (a great birthday or retirement present) and also give illustrated talks to (art and non-art) groups on various topics including creativity and innovation, art appreciation and different art techniques. For example, my recent talk commissioned for York Big City Read 2010 entitled 'Shock au l'Art'  was based around Parisian art scandals between 1850 & 1890.
